Our Mission

Our mission is to empower women in the Philippines through education and entrepreneurship.

How it Works

Our approach is more than just giving a handout. We believe that the catalyst for change for the poor is access – access to education and capital. Lifted provides financial assistance to female college and college-bound students (Lifted Scholar Program) and women-led small business owners (Lifted Small Business Grant) in the Philippines. Lifted’s goal is to provide students and entrepreneurs access to resources that are critical to lift themselves and their loved ones out of poverty. We want to empower women to create opportunities for themselves, and in turn, create opportunities for their families and the community they serve.

Lifted Foundation is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to Lifted Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Lifted Foundation’s tax identification number is 47-1674563.

Why the Philippines?

While the Philippines is one of the fastest growing Asian economies, the gap between the rich and the poor remains wide, as the share of the 10-percent richest Filipinos is over 70 percent of the country’s wealth.

As a Filipino-American, Lifted Co-Founder Carlyn Crisostomo saw the inequality of wealth distribution first-hand. She hopes that through the generosity of donors like you, we can empower one woman, one family, at a time.
